After choosing 'new game' you'll be in a forest. Exit to the east; a couple of trees will pop up on the way but they don't do anything to you. In the next screen you'll have some dialog, then you need to grab the five sticks with . One is west of you, one east and one south. Go back to the previous screen and grab the two sticks here; one is west of you and one is to the north west of you. Backtrack and interact with the X in the middle of this screen with . After the scene you'll have your first fight. Combat occurs on a grid. Allies and enemies move during their turns, and can attack or use items. You aren't supposed to win this fight, it's just a tutorial. You can move to any of the blue squares and you can press to bring up the action menu. You can press if you want to move somewhere else. The action menu has your attacks in the top row, and a random assortment of other things in the bottom row. In the bottom row you can choose to use an item, end your turn, check enemies' HP and other things. If you are using instant victory, it's the far right button on the bottom row.
Your characters learn more attacks as they level up. Each attack only hits certain squares, for example 'Throw Stone' hits one target that is two squares left or right of you, along with the two squares above and below them. Since you can freely close the action menu and pick somewhere else to move, you don't have to worry about standing somewhere you can't attack. If you want, you can move within two columns of an enemy, then you can use 'Throw Stone' and do 1 damage. On the next turn you'll be almost dead; select the bottle icon in the actions menu and use the Small Mushroom item. You'll lose anyway. After the scene you'll fight them for real. The game will teach you about attack and defence timing but as I said previously, I just set it to 'auto-great' because it gets so very tedious the more you play smashing multiple buttons for almost every single attack, defence and buff, but that's up to you. Anyway, just move within two columns of each enemy and hit them with 'Ignite' twice to kill each of them. Once they're dead, Chapter 1 begins.Chapter 1
Forest of Secrets
After the scene you'll regain control. You should have a pocket knife; you can press to bring up the menu and then select the equipment button. Press on your only character and then select the top slot and put the pocket knife there. You can talk to Eoc for a shop, but he has nothing interesting, though you'll probably want healing items if you aren't using the auto-great setting. Go east to the Forest of Secrets now. The cat that appears will heal you and also let you save your game; they are the game's save points. Head south one screen and beat the enemies here and loot the chest.
As a general rule I fought every enemy I came across, but feel free to grind if you're struggling;most
level ups give pretty fat stat boosts. So one or two level ups can make a boss or area much, much easier. Note that grinding out levels is a little more complicated than most games, because enemies seem to respawn randomly. You usually have to walk into a totally different area and/or enter a building to get them to respawn. You'll see a white circle south of you; step on it to be pushed west and continue west to the next screen. Walk onto the pad, then the south one, then step onto a partially obscured one on the south edge of this spot. Kill the enemy and loot the chest, then step on the pad here. Now step on the one by you, the one west of you, the only one here, and then go south to the next screen. There's a chest here, and the two rocks are actually enemies. Exit east. Use the pad here and then the next, then loot the three chests. One will have one of the lanterns you are looking for.
Use the pads to return to the area with the first enemy, then go north to the area with the save point. You'll see the lantern there. Go west two screens and you'll see a shadow in the northwest corner; interact with it to get a Sparkly Gem (1/10) from Spook. This is one of the collectibles you need to get for an achievement. Backtrack to the area with the save cat and go north. Nothing but an enemy here now, so go west. You'll find an enemy and a chest here. Head north to find another enemy and chest, but this screen is a little different. As you move around, totems will pop out of the ground to block you. You'll want to go west to the wall and then north. As you go up you'll see a break in the totems, go straight east and then north to get the chest. As you backtrack you'll see a path going south; take it. When you reach the fork, go north a few steps then east to move to the next screen. Go east until the totems block you, then go south to the wall, west, south and then east. Go north when there's a split and you can go north to the mushroom to fight it, but you need to go east to the wall and then north to the chests. Then, follow the path to the pink flowers for a scene. Backtrack and take the south exit, then go south to the screen with the lanterns. Approach the two lanterns for a scene.
Interact with it to start a boss fight. Your spells will do 1, maybe 2 damage to it. You can kill it that way, but the fastest way to kill it is to use the flames it summons. They explode when they die, and the explosion hits everyone next to them, including you. So you want to get a flame next to it and then kill the flame. Typically you should be able to use fireball attack (if you've unlocked it) to hit both Turmoil and the flame, so you do a little more damage. The hard part is getting the boss and flames next to each other. The flames have a low distance they can move, so you should ideally stay away from them and wait until the boss moves next to one, then move in and fireball them. If you're hitting the boss and the fireballs at the same time you should only have to do it three times. Once it dies you'll get an achievement:
Road to Ikenfell
You'll be able to go east now, so do so. Go north and then east, kill the enemy here. You'll see some trees along the north wall that look different with a path that dead ends to them. Interact with the trees and they'll disappear. Go north to find some chests, including one that has a Rare Gem (1/20), another type of collectible you need for an achievement. Go south twice and then east until you reach a screen with a hat. When you move a bit to the east you'll get a scene. Afterwards go north to the next screen, then north for a scene. Interact with the crystal to the left for a scene. Now backtrack until you run into two dudes and get a scene, when you'll have a fight. Bax (yellow cape) will heal Oxley (green cape) so move past Oxley and kill Bax first, then kill Oxley. If you get a great on two ignites it should kill Bax, then you kill the other guy. You'll get an achievement when they die:
Defeated Ibn & Bax
After the scene, a tree will disappear in the southeast corner of the screen. Use it to go south then west. Enter the building here. Go east to the next screen and you can check the doors. The left one has a cat door we can't open right now, the middle has a helmet on the bed, and the right one cannot be opened. Return to the tavern for a scene. Talk to the guy with the yellow hat at the counter and then the guy behind the counter. Return to the east screen and check the far-right door again. Enter the door for a scene. Petronella will join your party. Go west a screen for a scene, then north. Go down the ladder here. Go south a screen, then east and then north for a scene.
If you aren't level 4 now you might want to backtrack and level up in the Forest of Secrets, as the extra stats and the skills you get (an attack buff for Maritte, and a heal for Petronella) will help a lot. Regardless, save at the cat by the hole and enter when you're ready. When you open the chest, you'll have a boss fight. For the first form, just kill him. He can breathe fire in the 6 squares in front of him, and can also use bounce which hits a character 3 times. Make sure you heal before you kill the boss, as you have another boss fight afterward. The second form is the same as the first boss fight we did, but more difficult. The boss does more damage; he summons 3 minions at a time instead of 1, and the little minions have a much bigger movement range (2-3 squares bigger). The boss also teleports around, so it's less common for him to be near his minions to take damage from them.
I would try and kill the minions by the boss, and otherwise target minions nearby, and only take shots at the boss if the map is otherwise clear. The boss has an attack where he will charge up for a turn, then shoot a beam that hits every square in a row on the next turn. I would try and keep your characters in different rows to avoid them both getting hit. If the map is clear you might want to use the free turns to heal if you need to. Once it is dead you'll have a scene and achievement and then you can leave the tavern.
You'll see stairs to the west, that leads to the guy with the yellow hat. He sells stuff for gems, which are the collectables in this game. We don't have enough to buy anything though so ignore it for now. Head east to the next screen and enter the shed here. Go north for a scene, then you'll be in a secret passage. You want to head east through the wall - there's not much of an indication there's a passage, but just try walking into the wall at about the half way point. Head through the passage to the north exit, then continue north and interact with the book. This starts chapter 2.Chapter 2
Head south to enter the Ikenfell Grounds. After the scene head east to the next screen, then east for another scene. Afterwards, head south two screens and then west one. Check the biggest tree here for a Rare Gem (2/20). Now head east 3 screens and touch the diamond. Head east one more screen and interact with the biggest tree; it will shrink and you can grab another Rare Gem (3/20). Go north two screens and loot the chest (it has enemies by it) for a scene, then head west 1 screen and approach the door for a scene, after which you can head inside.
After the scene head north. You'll find a chest with some enemies by it. These guys attack by knocking one of your characters into another if they're close to each other. Also, once you hit them once they go underground until their next turn and take much less damage.
You'll see a bed with a book on it; interact with the bed for a clue. Head south to the first screen and interact with the southeast pillar from the north side of it; this will open the path going east. In this screen check the sparkle by the fireplace for a Tiny Ghost Key. Head east to the next screen. You'll find some enemies here that drop egg traps on the battlefield. They aren't marked so you have to remember where they are so you don't step on them. Interact with the sink to open a third stall and check the sparkle inside it for a Rare Gem (4/20). Now return to the entrance (with the save cat) and open the door with the face on it with your key. Check the dresser next to the bookcase for a clue, then exit and go east. Interact with the far left couch, the far right, and then the middle one. Go up the stairs that drop. You'll find an enemy and a chest here. Go into the north west door and check the dressers right to left. The last one will have a clue. Leave this room. The game says you need to take the left exit, then right, then left, then right, but the first time I went left it worked so I don't know what the deal is.
Anyway, you should see a save cat and a door to the left; go up to it and a heart will appear. Interact with the heart for a scene, and then a boss fight against...an Adorable Kitten. It's fairly simple if you have auto-great on, but if not it can be a pain. The bosses' Glass Shards attack did 5 hits for 2 damage to Maritte, and every defence was a great. If you're doing things manually it would be very easy to get wrecked by it. After the boss uses the move the first time I would make sure to heal the person who got hit so they don't die from the next barrage. It will also pounce which does very little damage, and can also use Glass Wall which summons spikes in 3 places, which also doesn't do a tonne of damage. Basically just heal so no one can get killed by Glass Shards and you're good. You get an achievement for beating this boss:
Defeated Adorable Kitten
Defeated Adorable Kitten
Head north a screen. The enemies here don't seem to attack much until you hit them, so try to wait until both characters will have a turn together to kill them. Go east a screen. Interact with the torch in the north east corner and a chest will drop. Enter the room here. It is dark initially and you'll see enemies sleeping northwest of you. Go to them and kill them, then interact with the drawer by the bed. The room will light up. Grab the chest south of you and interact with the west wall of the southeast room to open it. Check the dresser. Leave the room and go west 1 screen, then north 1 screen. Check the sparkle by the fireplace for a Rare Gem (5/20). The other exit has a chest. Go south 1 screen and go down the stairs here. Head south 1 screen, then go into the west stall. Stand by the toilet and walk west to find a secret room with a chest. It has a Rare Gem (6/20).
Backtrack one room and go east. Go south to open the door back to the start, then backtrack. There's a shop here; enter the room for a scene. Save at the cat, then talk to Gilda for a boss fight. To start she uses lightning which hits a spot and the 8 squares around it. After she loses 20-30 health she'll use "exposition" and start taunting, which lowers a stat by 1. Once she gets down to 20-30 left, she'll use exposition again. She'll use shock trap on a square, then teleport and use a lighting spell that hits an entire row. You'll need to chase her down while dodging her shock traps, and she will also get multiple turns sometimes. She will also teleport back across the map if you don't kill her fast enough. After you beat her you'll get an achievement:
Exit the room for a scene, then go back in. After the scene you get a new party member named Rook. Leave the room, go south 1 screen and then west once. Go south to leave this place. Back in Ikenfell Grounds, go south two screens and then west once. Go south two screens for a scene. Go west a screen and interact with the door for another scene. Backtrack all the way to the dorms and go back inside. Go east one screen, north once, west once, then approach the door with the bookcases in front of it for a scene. After the scene, go in the door. Take the west exit for a scene, then enter the door west of you to enter the Alchemy Lab.
Head west for a scene, then onto the next screen. The enemies here buff each other. The one with the up arrow will cast defence up on the front one, and the one with the heart can heal him. Kill them first before you deal with the front guy. Go north one screen and kill the enemy/loot the chest here. Backtrack one room and go west. Enter the room here and talk to the slime. He will become a shop. He sells better weapons and also Overalls and Blue Snugs, which boost defence without tanking your speed. So, put Overalls on the two girls and Blue Snugs on for two of them.
Exit the room and then interact with the slime on the dresser three times for a fight. Once you win, check the dresser the slime was on for a hat you should put on the person that didn't get a Blue Snug. Go east two screens and beat the slime here, then open the chest. Head west one screen and then north once, and beat the slime here. Go north 2 screens. You can save here. Go east once and step on the yellow plate south of you. There's another plate behind the north pillar, and to access the third plate there's a secret path in the south edge of the east wall. Now go south one screen. Loot the chest here for an item you'll need. You'll see a sparkle in the southeast corner surrounded by railings; go into the wall right above it to reach it, it's another Rare Gem (7/20). Backtrack one room and interact with the yellow tub to get some liquid. Go west to the room with the save and go west one screen. Kill the enemy here. You'll see 3 sets of yellow plates; you need one character on each plate. For the middle set for example, walk onto the bottom one, then walk north to the top one, so you have a character on each plate. For the southwest set, stand on the bottom one, then walk up onto the next plate, then west onto the next. Do the same for the last set.
Now take the south exit and loot the chest. Backtrack to the room with the plates and go south of the southwest pillar to find a secret path to the other chest. Use the tub of yellow liquid to get some of it, then go east one screen and use the two light bulbs. Now go north and use the diamond. Afterwards, go east for a scene and then a boss fight. To start, simply kill the enemies the boss spawns. When the real boss reveals himself, the actual fight starts. He summons 3 slimes; the one you need to be worried about is the fire one, because when it dies it explodes (again?). He also damages enemies so you can use it to do damage to the boss or the other slimes. The other two slimes don't really seem to do much damage so you may just want to ignore them and focus on the boss, as he keeps summoning them. His only noteworthy attack is a shock trap. You're likely to lose track of them since the fight can drag on, which is more reason to focus it down. Eventually the boss "loses its humour" and it seems to summon only red slimes after that. After you beat him you'll get an achievement:
Head west once, south twice, then a passage will open east of you. Head through it. Kill the enemy here, then check the sparkle near the east wall next to the railing for a Rare Gem (8/20). Exit south. Head east once, then south a bunch of screens until you run into some bushes. Go south 4 more screens and then west once, then talk to the door again. Enter the door to find the Study Hall. Go west one screen and then go west a bit for a scene. Afterwards, chapter 3 begins.Chapter 3
After the scene, exit the study hall and go east to find a Traveller Oak; it's basically a fast travel system. From here, head north until you reach the brown building to find another tree. Now head west twice and approach the gate for a scene. Interact with it and then go inside. Go south for a scene and the path will open, but don't head in yet. Go west once and then south, then west again and down the stairs. You can buy things with Rare Gems here. Most of them are pretty conditional though, so you won't really use much of them. You need to buy all of them for an achievement, so it doesn't really matter if you use them or not. Since it's a pain in the butt to check each item and then choose not to buy it, here's a list of them from right to left:
Sweetie Pin - Heal adjacent allies in critical condition.
Bone Locket - Damage enemies adjacent to you.
Soft Socks - +1 Movement.
Star Pin - Boosts Power for the first three turns of battle.
Power Glove - Boosts Power when HP is low.
Bolt Pin - +10% speed when HP is low.
Soft Scarf - Use items from far away.
Rising Pin - Heals you to 25% HP when you die once per battle.
I bought the Star Pin and Soft Socks now, since they are both always useful. The rest you can just buy whatever you want. I only equipped the Star Pin for now though, on Maritte. Anyway, go back upstairs and activate the tree by the tavern door. Now go east once, north once, then east again.
Go south 3 times, then look for the sparkles east of the lone tree for a Rare Gem (9/20). Go west once. You'll find an enemy and a tree here; make sure to activate it. Then enter the building. You'll find a save point here with a chest by it. Go west to find an enemy and more chests, though you can only get the northwest one right now. Exit south and kill the enemy and grab the chest, which has a key. Backtrack one room and open the other door here to get a chest with another key. You'll see a break in the south wall; head through. Kill the enemy here and check the other cell, you'll see some weird slime on the east wall; enter it. There's a shop here. Head east and use the save cat, then approach the fire for a scene. Afterwards, approach the fire again for a boss fight.
I assume you want to go with the blue hat first because he said it's a cleric hat so he probably heals, but the way my turns worked out all three of my characters got their turns together, so I just focused one character each round and killed them. Once you deal with the minions attack Blackhat. He didn't do much damage; the main annoying thing he does is use fleebomb, which does damage to everyone in the radius and then he flies to the other side of the area, much like Gilda's teleport. None of the enemies here had particularly juicy items to steal, with the boss only giving a black bomb. Once the boss dies, you'll get an achievement:
Go north to return to the entrance of the Northern Dorms and use the tree to return to the Library. Go west once and enter the Study Hall, then go west once. Read the open book in the west side of the area for a scene, then head south once. You'll find an enemy here (one of the books on the ground) and there's two southern exits. Take the left one, then take the right one and interact with the bookcase that has a sparkle and go down the stairs. Approach the mirror for a scene. Now leave the Study Hall and go east once, then all the way north. Eight screens up you'll see a travel tree, north once past that will be a shop, and one screen above that is your objective, and a save cat.
Approach the door for a scene. You'll be inside now. Head east one screen after the scene. Your new "ally" Pertisia is AI controlled during battles, just FYI. I put Rook in my party to steal from bosses along with Maritte and left Pertronella behind. You can use the cat to change your party if you like. Head north once and interact with the bookcase in the northeast corner, then grab the Sparkly Gem (2/10) behind it.
Return to the previous room and go east once. Check the locked door here then go south once. There's plenty of doors here; the north east and the two west doors have people to talk to you if you want, but you want to head through the far west door to continue. Save and approach the door for a scene and a boss fight against Gilda. This one is 1-on-1 and it's really annoying. Gilda will often get multiple turns and she loves laying traps, so unless you memorize where every single one is, you'll probably step on a few of them and lose turns. Her other attacks don't do any more damage than anything you've fought recently, so the fight basically comes down to how well you remember where the shock traps are. You should also keep an eye on the turn order so you can throw up a healing item when she's going to get a few turns in a row and Maritte is low. Once you win you'll get an achievement and a Rare Gem (10/20).
Defeated Gilda 1-on-1
Defeated Gilda 1-on-1
After the scene, go in the door and open the chest for a scene. Leave and go east once, north once, then open the locked door. Go through for a scene. In this new area, follow the path for a scene, and then you'll see a piece of furniture; interact with it. After the scene you'll be in Snatcher's Lair.
Go south once to find a save cat. Go south again and talk to the pink 'cloud' for scene, then go north once, and west twice. There's a shop here. In the northeast corner you'll see a plate; step on it and then use the east exit by you. Step on the plate here and then go south to the next screen. You should see 5 circles with one light up and 4 that aren't. You'll also see 4 plates. You want to step on the far left one, and 2nd from the right plate. Then you can go west and talk to the Snatcher again for a scene. The yellow thing in the southwest corner is a chest. Backtrack one room. As you cross the path you'll see a new one appear; follow it to a sign, read it and grab the chest. Now go north once and then west. Go down the stairs here. Go south once, then step on the plate in the southeast corner. Go west (don't touch the plate, if you do just step on it again) and then north and step on this plate. Now step on the plate south of you and go west, then step on the northwest plate. Step on the plate east of you, then the one south of you, and then you go west to the next screen.
When the path turns north there's a secret wall to the left; follow that path to a chest and a plate you should step on. Now go the other way and step on the plate to get the chest. Now go east once and then north. Go west once and then up the stairs. There's 5 plates here; one in each corner and a middle one. Walk over the southwest one first, then the middle, then the southeast one. Exit east. There's some enemies and a chest here, then go down the stairs. Step on the plate nearby and exit south, then talk to the Snatcher again. Now go north, take the northwest exit directly to the left of the stairs and then go down the stairs. Use the northwest exit here, then go down the stairs. If you look at the southwest corner of the west wall, you'll see it looks different. Walk through to the sparkle for a Rare Gem (11/20). Save and go north, then talk to the Snatcher for a boss fight.
He has one attack that hits characters in a column for good damage (if all greats, 6-9 depending on how much they are hit) but the rest of his attacks don't do much. Once he loses about 50-75 HP he will summon 2 of the pants enemies. As he gets lower he will summon 4 boot enemies. These will attack once and they leave, but they only have 3 HP so they can be killed with most AoE attacks, like Fireball of Paper Storm. He summoned the boots a second time but he was so low I just burst him down. Once it is dead you'll get an achievement:
Defeated the Snatcher
Defeated the Snatcher
Use the toilet by the Snatcher and then go west for a scene. Go south once, west twice and then south to leave. Go south twice to the tree and use it to go to the Schoolyard. Go north once and east once, then enter the Southern Dorms. Go east once, then north, then west and go up the stairs. Then go south and open the door with the heart by putting the Floppy Hat and Floppy Cloak on Maritte and then interact with the door. Go inside and use the diamond. After the scenes, leave the Southern Dorms and go south once and then west once. Use the tree to go to the North Schoolyard. Go east to find a shop. The Mr. Serious and Royal Snug armours are pretty good if you can afford them. Go east another screen to enter the Twilight Yard and start Chapter 4.
You'll see a brown walkway going north and south. You can't just freely walk through the area because the walkway blocks you, so travel is a bit more complicated than a place like the Ikenfell Grounds. Anyway, start by getting on the walkway and going south, east and then north. You'll see a spot you can get off the walkway and go west, so do so for one screen. Check the rock south of you for a Rare Gem (12/20). Get back on the walkway and go south one screen, then east two screens. Get off the walkway with the south ramp and go east one screen. Check the bottom of the top bench for another Rare Gem (13/20). Go west one screen and get back on the walkway, then go north once and activate the tree here. Now go west once for a scene. Now approach the door to the tower for a scene. You need 6 keys. Go east one screen and get off the walkway, then go east one screen. You'll see some flowers south of you in a cross formation; check the middle one for a key. Go west one screen and get on the walkway, then go north one screen. Get off the walkway and go west one screen. Check the east side of the south rock for a key.
Get back on the walkway and go east and then south. Get off the walkway and go north, then check the north tree for a key. Get back on the walkway and go south then west all the way until the walkway turns north. Go north one screen and get off the walkway then go south. Check the bottom of the bottom bench for a key. Get back on the walkway and go north once, then east once. Get off the walkway and head west, then check the bottom of the bottom bench for the fifth key. Get back on the walkway and go east once. Get off the walkway, go west once, south once and check the area between the two benches for the last key. Get back to the walkway and go east once and then south once, then west and interact with the door to open it, then go inside. Go north for a scene.
Go up the stairs. You need to push the block with stars on them into certain positions, they will make a noise and the star on them will glow when they are in the right spot. From left to right :
Far left : Move close to the top
2nd from left : Move close to the left side
Southeast : Move to the southeast corner
Northeast : Move all the way to the right.
After the scene, go up two sets of stairs. Push one block all the way up and then left into the hole. Push the other block all the way down and then right into the hole. Go downstairs and push the blocks onto the plates, then go upstairs and you'll be able to use the other stairs. Go up them. Go west here into the bathroom and defeat the enemy here. A shop will then appear. He has some good stuff, better weapons for everyone but Pertistia and Mean Greens, which decreased everyone's defence by one when equipped, but gave them a lot of speed. I also put Mr. Serious on everyone. Note that you don't have to equip the person you aren't using if you want to save money. With that done, check the southwest corner of this area for a Rare Gem (14/20). Head east and go up the stairs now. The sole lantern here is an enemy. Head east and then south. Go west (kill the enemy) and then go south to find the stairs. Head up. Another puzzle here.
Northwest block : move it all the way to the bottom and then most of the way to the east.
Southwest block : Move it into the northeast corner, then a couple steps west and a tiny bit south.
Northeast block : Move it into the southwest corner, then move it a bit north.
Southeast block : Move it into the northwest corner, then a couple steps east and a tiny bit south.
After the scene, go up two flights of stairs. You need to push the four blocks down. Push one all the way into the west side of the hole, and one all the way into the east side of the hole. For the other two, line one up with the pressure plate by the stairs going down and push it down. Line the other one up under the northernmost firefly and push it down. Go downstairs and push them onto the plates, then go up two flights of stairs. There's just an enemy and chest here, so continue up. From here, go up/down the stairs in each room until you reach a spot where there's two stairs going up. There's an item in the northeast corner, then take the south stairs. Follow the path to the next stairs, then another block puzzle. From left to right...
Move it into the northwest corner.
Move it all the way east, equal distance from the north and south edge.
Move it all the way south, equal distance from the west and east edge.
Move it all the way west, then equal distance between the north and south edge
Move it into the northeast corner.
Head up the stairs. There's a shop here, a chest and a save cat. Save and head up the stairs by it. Head north for a scene, then approach it again for a boss fight. There's not too many mechanics to fight, he has a couple attacks but they didn't seem to do much damage with a great block (especially with the armour we just bought). The main problem is he summons little stars to help him. He did it three times and I just got tired of it and blitzed him down, but there's a second form to fight, so make sure you are relatively healed before you finish the boss off the first time. Use AoE attacks to damage him and his minions and try to keep his minions to a reasonable number until he's close enough you can finish him off, then do so. In his second form the fight is mostly the same, except he does a little bit more damage and the minions he summons will kamikaze themselves into you. If you have auto-great on, or are good at blocking, it's probably best to just focus on the boss instead of trying to kill them before their turn comes up, which is what I did. Once he goes down you'll get an achievement:
Talk to the girl on the ground for a scene. Ima joins, and the star dude becomes a shop. You can also talk to him to "carry you down" to the bottom of the tower, so do so. Ima has a skill called Rainbow, which affects the targeted square and the ones below, above and to the right and left of it. If you position your characters properly, it can hit everyone on your team (it can also affect enemies so be careful!). It gives everyone effect HP regen and they heal at the start of their turn. You should be using it constantly in every boss fight and also in random encounters every once in awhile to keep everyone topped off. Go east once and use the tree to go to the Schoolyard. Go east two screens and interact with the door to have Ima clear it, then head inside the Grand Hall.
Grand Hall and Spirit Opal
Head inside and go east once. At the bottom of the 2nd table (top row) is a Rare Gem (15/20). Go east one screen and touch the diamond. After the scene, go west once, south and then east. You'll see numbers on the pillars; open the bathroom doors in that order. So : 2nd from left, far right, far left then 2nd from right. Open the chest for a Rare Gem (16/20). Go south and then east. Go east for a scene then touch the diamond. Exit south to enter the Spirit Oval. The green eye here lays traps that will poison you if you stand on them. Enter the wind in the northeast corner to teleport. Go west once and flip the pink switch, then enter the wind south of you. There's a sparkle straight west of you. Go back into the wind and flip the pink switch, then enter the wind again. Flip the green switch and go back. Head north now. You'll slide across the ice here until you reach non-ice. Go north and then east, grab the chest and enter the wind above you to return to the start. Go straight north onto the tile, go west to the wall then south to the tile. Go all the way east and flip the pink switch. Go south into the wind. Move one square east, north to the tile, then east to the chest. Go north and hit the green switch.
Enter the wind by you. Go north, west, south then east. You'll hit the spot where the pink block was; go north, west, then south. Go west to the green tile and then north to continue. You'll find a diamond here; touch it. Open the two chests here and then interact with the spinning rune, then enter the wind. Hit the pink switch here and go east. Go east again to find a bathroom. Walk south into the wall between the far right and 2nd from the right pillar. Head east/north/west into the far stall and grab the Rare Gem (17/20) here. Backtrack one room. Hit the green switch here, then walk south of the pink switch and move to it and flip it. Now you can move to the green tile in the ice; go north and then west to the chest here. Then go south and east across the ice to the wall. Now go south of the pink switch and go north to hit it again.
Walk onto the green tile then north to the next screen. Enter the wind by the green switch west of you. Go north and hit the pink switch, then enter the wind nearby. Go east and then north and grab the chest, then enter the wind by you. Hit the pink switch and then the green switch, enter the wind and grab the rune north of you. Now backtrack to the original room with the save cat and shop (you may have to flip one of the switches in the ice room to do it). Hit the green switch and go in the wind, then go west a screen. Hit the pink switch and then go west (not into the wind). Go south and then east to the pillar, then go north across the ice. Hit the pink switch, then go west to the pillar and go south. Go west, north, then east into the pink tile. Go south, west, then north onto the tile.
Go east, grab the chest, then go one square south and west across the ice to the green switch. Hit the switch. Go east across the ice and enter the wind, then hit the pink switch and then go west across the ice. Go up to the pink switch at the top and hit it, then back south and go west to the next screen. Go west to the pillar and then north to the wall. Go east and hit the green switch. Go west and then south to the circles on the ground. Stand on the circles and then go all the way west and grab the chest. Go east onto the green block and then south to the next screen. Grab the chest and hit the pink switch here, then go west. Grab the rune in the far stall, then enter the middle stall and walk east through the wall into the far right stall and grab the Rare Gem (18/20). Backtrack to the previous room and enter the wind here.
Head south to the next screen. Hit the green switch and then go south and hit the pink one. Hit the green switch, the pink switch again and head north. Walk to the pink tile and then go south and grab the rune. Hit the pink switch then enter the wind. Head north and into the wind here. Open the north door. Head inside and then go through the other door. You'll find another save cat and a tree, which you should approach for a scene. Activate the tree, save your game and head north for a scene. After the scene talk to them for a boss fight. They all have pretty low HP (Ibn and Gilda have 50, Bax has 80) so I just focused them down one at a time. Assuming you get Rainbow on everyone first turn that should be enough to keep you up. When they die, they will debuff your party. Gilda will lower their speed, Ibn will lower their attack and Bax will lower their defence. Also make sure to steal from them all with Rook for some neat armour. Once they're dead you'll get an achievement:
Defeated Ibn, Bax & Gilda
Some heavy story starts dropping, so interact with the diamond when it ends. After the scene, chapter 5 starts.Chapter 5
Talk to Ibn, Gilda and finally Maritte. You will be without Maritte for now, so I used Ima, Rook and Gilda (who joins your party now). Go north and enter the door here. Go north, west, north twice, then north again after the scene. You'll find a save point here, then head east. Head east through the weird looking wall to find a Sparkly Gem (3/10). Return to the previous room and go south. Go south again to find a tree, then go east for a scene. Go east again and then south to the Orchard. Get on the walkway and go west one screen. There's a hidden ramp behind the second tree; go down it and then south one screen. Check the bottom of the table for a Rare Gem (19/20). Go east and grab the chest/kill the enemy and then go north and touch the diamond. Get on the walkway, go south and then go down the ramp here. Go south to find an enemy and then east. Get on the ramp and go west, then south to find the Cemetery.
Talk to Gwenora to start a quest chain that relates to an achievement, then check the top left gravestone to find the spot. Talk to him again and we'll get it later. Go south twice, east, then north once. Head to the Schoolyard. Talk to Blackhat east of you who will open a shop with some nice goodies in it, though they are expensive. If you have the cash they are good upgrades. Anyway, head west twice and then check the northwest tree. Return to Gwenora in the Cemetery. The next one is in the Library; take the tree there, go west and enter. Go west one screen and south once, then check the bookcase with books to the right of it and books southwest of it. Return to Gwenora. The next one is in the Southern Dorms. Teleport to the Schoolyard and go north once, east once, then enter the dorms. Go east once, north once, then check the northwest corner for the spot. Return to Gwenora.
For the next one, teleport to the North Schoolyard. Go north and enter the Northern Dorms. Go east twice, south, west and then enter the room here. Check the fireplace. Return to Gwenora. For the next one, teleport to the Twilight Yard and go west to the Astrology Tower. Have the star dude take you to the top. Check the barrel of the telescope from the right side to find it. Return to Gwenora. I sold the stuff he gave me and bought Emberhats for everyone. Anyway, from the tree in the Cemetery, go north once then check the northeast corner for a Shiny Gem (1/8). Enter the house for a scene. Grab the key in the northwest corner. The shop has nothing special. Now teleport to the Schoolyard and enter the tower by the tree.
Go north for a scene. Go up the stairs twice and you'll see a metal ball. You can push it the way you are facing by pressing . Push it east, north and then west. There's a secret room to the east; it's straight east of the stone wall in the middle of the room. Go south and follow the path around to a Sparkly Gem (4/10). Now return to the previous room and go up the stairs. Grab the chest here and head up. Smack the ball south, west, south, east, south, east, north and then west. Go up the stairs. There's a chest in the northeast corner (interact with the bookcase to move it) and the stairs going up are south of you. Check the bookcase in the middle of the area first for Gwenora. Push the left ball south and then east. Push the other ball south, east, north and then west. Push the first ball south and go up the stairs. Check the northeast corner for a Shiny Gem (2/8) and then take the stairs up. Save and go north for a scene. Afterwards, activate the tree and then talk to the bird. You'll be sent to the Forest Ruins.
After the scene, head south and then west twice. You'll find a shop here. I bought Steel Toes for everyone but that's about it. Go south once, west twice then south. Take the other north path, talk to the guy and then activate the crystal. Go south and then east. You'll see some flowers north of you; you can go through the trees here and go north. Go east and then south twice. Go east and then north. Activate the crystal here. Go west, north and then east. This is a sort of maze. Go east to the wall, north, east, south, east, north and then southeast to the next screen. Go south and then west. Talk to the guy and activate the crystal. Head north, west and then north. Go west twice and then north. Talk to the dude and head east. Activate the crystal and return to the barrier, which is now gone. Go north one screen and then a tiny bit north for a scene and a boss fight.
It's a three phase fight, with the first two being rather simple. You will be familiar with the first phase from when you did it previously. They don't do much damage and they have low HP, so it is an easy fight. None of them had anything good to steal. In the second phase you only face one enemy. Steal from him and then kill him. The third phase is the one that will be a struggle. They both use Starstorm, which did 4 damage to everyone in the radius, and they sometimes had multiple turns. It's very easy to get overwhelmed. You either need to have everyone split up to avoid that, or make sure you have Ima's rainbow going the entire fight. Either way, focus one of them down ASAP and the fight becomes much easier. Once they're dead you'll get an achievement:
Defeated the Ghost Legion
Defeated the Ghost Legion
You'll see a flower by you; head east through the trees and open all the chests. One of them has a Sparkly Gem (5/10). Go back and go north. Approach the diamond for a scene. Afterward, talk to the Raven and choose to leave to start chapter 6.
Teleport to the Cemetery and talk to Gwenora to get the next one, then teleport to the Library. Head east one screen and approach the stone for a scene. Return to the tree and teleport to Schoolyard. Go west once and then north. Approach the wall for a scene. Enter the Duelling Hall. There's an enemy and a chest here. Head north, then west. Kill the enemy here and then check the west side of the pool near the towels for a Rare Gem (20/20). Go south and kill the enemy to cause two chests to fall, then go west. Head north and approach the woman for a scene. Talk to her again for a boss fight. She does decent damage (a great defence still did 5 damage) but she can only hurt multiple people if she hits someone into a person behind her, so one cast of rainbow should keep your party healed until the boss goes down. You'll get an achievement for beating her:
Afterwards, check the northwest corner for a Shiny Gem (3/8) where the block the boss moved was during the scene. Go south, all the way east and then south to leave. Go east and then north. Interact with the door. Head inside and open the chest for a Sparkly Gem (6/10). Exit, go south and use the tree to go to the Stoc and Barrol. Go down the stairs and buy the other accessories you don't have (ignore the ones that have a yellow star by them for now). You'll get an achievement after buying them all:
Bought All Gem Accessories
Bought All Gem Accessories
Return to the tree and go to the Library. Go south one screen then go east through the small path. Check the dead end for a Sparkly Gem (7/10). Return to the previous screen, go north and then east. Talk to Radegund for a scene. Enter the Archives.
There's a save cat here. Go up the north east stairs. There's two chests here, then go back downstairs and interact with the bookcase with the candle on it. Go east. Talk to the owl, then interact with the bookcase with the skeleton on it north of the owl. Also interact with the bookcase in the southwest corner. Push the block onto the plate for a scene. Go north and check to the right of the chair for a Shiny Gem (4/8). Now go south three times. Read the book on the ground south of you. There's two more; one in the northeast corner and one in the southeast. Read them both. Head south one screen, then south for a scene. There's a chest in the northeast corner, then head south. Touch the diamond. After the scene, go south and then up the stairs by you. This puzzle is easy. You'll see a block with a dot on it. Push it onto the dot on the floor, then push it into the hole. Go downstairs and push the block onto the dot, then into the hole. Go back upstairs and you'll see a block in a new place. Do the same thing until the block is finally by a plate. Push the box onto it and go north.
You'll see two sets of blocks. For the left side, you want one box in the north west corner and one in the southeast. The other side is a little more complicated. Put one block even with the middle bookcase, up against the west side. Put the other one up against the east side, between the top and middle bookcase. Head north and the path should open up. Go north. After the scene, save your game and check the book. Talk to the owl for a boss fight. The boss itself isn't too bad. He has an attack that will hit everyone on the map no matter where they are that does about 4-5 to each. The problem you'll have is the minions he summons. The ones he summons before he says something about making you die are pretty tame, but the books he summons after that can do pretty good damage. You'll want to kill them and then take shots at the boss, unless he's so low you can safely ignore them. You'll want rainbow going constantly, so make sure to get everyone together to recast it when it falls off. Once he is dead you'll get an achievement:
There's two chests to grab, then go north. Push the pillar to the west and grab the chest here too, then go north. You'll have a bunch of scenes when you walk into this room. Afterwards, head east and check the spot between the two pillars in the southeast corner for a Shiny Gem (5/8). Return to the previous room and check the bookcase by the skeleton, then go north. This starts Chapter 7.Chapter 7
Check the book north of you for a scene. Head south twice, use the stairs, then go north, west and then south to leave. Go west to the tree and teleport to the Twilight Yard. Get on the walkway and go north. You'll find a save cat and a shop, but the shop just has healing items. Take the lock off the door and go inside the Gardens.
Enter the room for a scene. Go east twice and then north. Pick up the stone on the plate and put it in the weird indent east of you. Now go south and take the other north path and grab the stone. Go back to the first screen and put the stone in the indent by the east entrance. Go west. You'll find an enemy and a chest here, and the same to the north. To get the chest though, you have to step on the two plates behind the benches. Go south and then west. Step on the plate west of you, then check the water with the vine sticking out to the north of you for Gwenora. Go north. Pick up the stone and go south; put it in the indent by the plate. Go down the north east path and step on the plate, then go to the other side and pick up the stone. Go back to the other side and put the stone in that spot, then go south and step on the plate in the middle of the screen.
Take the stone and return to the first screen. Put it in the spot by the west entrance, then go north. Interact with the golem for a boss fight of sorts I guess. The boss can summon adds, but only has 100 HP so just slaughter it. The second form is really rough. The boss summons adds, uses that attack that summons a ton of spikes, and also gets several turns. First priority is keeping rainbow active, and the next is killing his minions whenever he spawns them. Ideally you want to aim to kill the boss after he summons the first group of enemies and you kill them, if not you may have to throw up a healing item or two to survive the barrage. When he dies you'll get an achievement:
Defeated the Gardener
Defeated the Gardener
Talk to the girl for a scene. Check the base of the southeast vine for a Shiny Gem (6/8). Now go south three times and use the tree to teleport to the Cemetery and talk to Gwenora. Teleport to the Library. You can get healing items and armour from the shops here. Two screens south you'll find a ghost that sells weapons, as well as a save cat. Interact with the door and go inside. Check the northeast corner for a Shiny Gem (7/8), then head west twice. Interact with the weird shadows, go east once and go south twice. Head south to the bookcases and interact with the middle one. Follow the path to some stairs. Go up and then west, interact with the weird ghost thing in the northeast corner and then go east twice. In here you'll see some ghosts. If they see you, you get teleported back to the start. Wait for them to look away and then run past them. After the third ghost you'll have to worry about the 4th, 3rd and 1st ghost seeing you as you make a mad dash, so make sure all three of them are looking away before making a run for it.
Interact with the bookcase straight northeast from the first ghost and head north. You'll find two chests, and one has a Sparkly Gem (8/10). Go back to the previous room and go east now. This room is a little trickier. You want to walk behind the first ghost as he goes south, then go all the way east and work your way north while staying behind the 2nd one. The 3rd is stationary. For the next two, when the bottom ghost moves right, move to the 2nd square from the right, then when they move again head south and go up the stairs. Interact with the stationary enemy here to fight it. When you kill it you'll get a Ghost Heart. Go west if you want for a chest, otherwise go up the stairs. Interact with the bookcase on the north wall next to the lone pillar and go through. Open the north chest for an achievement:
Found the Book of Alchemy
Found the Book of Alchemy
Go west once and then north. Interact with the northeast bookcase and go through. Open the chest for a fight. There's an eye in the head of the enemy, and you can only do relevant damage to it when it pops out, which it does after summoning 3 minions. It will put the eye back in the box after a turn or two, so you actually need to ignore the minions and damage the boss as much as possible while you can. Needless to say, you want rainbow on everyone constantly so you can damage the boss without having to throw up healing items. Once the eye goes back in the box it won't attack, so you can deal with the minions. Leave one alive and heal up if you need to and then kill the last one. The boss will do it again. Repeat until it dies. Return to the previous room and go west. Approach the eye and it will move; you have to follow it's path exactly. From the square you start on go west twice, north twice, west twice, south to the wall, west twice, north once, west to the wall, north to the wall, east to the wall, south twice, east twice, and then north twice. Beat it for another Ghost Heart.
Go east once, south twice, then west. Go to the west side of the screen and interact with the middle bookcase north of you. Go north to find another Ghost Heart dude. Talk to it, then you can head north a screen. Interact with the ghost again and it will split; one will shake and you need to watch it as it moves. For me, the 1st and 2nd were south east, the 3rd was north east, the 4th was south east, 5th was north east and 6th was north east. After the 6th time, you can fight it and get the Ghost Heart. Head east and interact with the middle bookcase south of you. Go south and then down the stairs. Go north and then west. Go to the west dead end and interact with the middle south bookcase and head south. You need to approach this ghost from behind and interact with it a bunch of times. The first few times were simple, but he eventually teleported to the north west and I couldn't get behind him. I had to interact with the south bookcase behind him to get to him. After that, he went to the middle and started spinning around. Approach him from behind one last time to fight it.
After you have the Ghost Heart, go north and then east. Go north once and then west once, then interact with the weird shadows to open the way. Go down the stairs. Just follow the path until you reach the room with a shop and save cat. When you're ready, go north for a boss fight. The boss has 300 HP and will summon minions throughout the fight, like every boss you've fought recently. After beating the first set I actually just ignored them and went for the boss, only hitting the minions when I could with AoE attacks. It never summoned more after a 3rd set, so maybe you could kill them and face the boss alone but honestly, the rinse and repeat boss fights were getting pretty boring for me so I just wanted to end it ASAP. As always, keep Rainbow up and the fight shouldn't be too difficult. Once it dies you'll get an achievement:
Go up the stairs and approach the red stone for some scene, after which Chapter 8 will start.
Exit south. Head north to the tree and teleport to the East Schoolyard. Radegund has weapons, Blackhat has armour. I bought a Snuggledrake, The Harvester, and Avians on everyone I was using. Head east for scene. After the scenes, talk to Sadio to give her the book then go into the hole. Follow the linear path. You'll have a scene and then another at the end with a boss fight. It only has 200 HP, and summons minions like usual. I would just focus it down. With the new armour boosting your defence and speed so much, it should be very easy to just focus the boss down, and I didn't even bother with Rainbow. Once you beat it you get an achievement:
Defeated the Unseen
Defeated the Unseen
Head north and leave. Activate the tree here and enter the Spelltower. After the scene, head north and avoid the spotlight or you get dragged back to the start of the screen. Head north and then east. Head east and walk into the spotlight in the north east corner, then loot the chests. One has the last Shiny Gem (8/8). Walk into the spotlight by you and go south once. At the south edge of the screen you'll see towers. When you touch one it changes the state of that tower and the one left and right of it; if it's off it'll turn on, if it's on it'll turn off. You need them all lit to progress. To do that hit the middle one first, and then the far left and far right towers. Enter the glowing thing in the north east corner. Head south and then go up the stairs by you. Go to the end of the path and go south. You'll be on an invisible platform. Follow it to the other walkway then go south and interact with the bowl of water. You'll be invisible for a few seconds, so grab the north chest if you like and then rush through all the spotlights and go west.
You want to use the water and then rush to the north west corner (it's a very close timing, so if necessary use the south west water and then run for it). Step on the block here, grab the water and go through the laser. Touch the next water and go past the other laser, then step on the plate and go north. Go up the walkway by you and go west onto a platform, which leads north east. Step on the plate and go north. Step on the plate here and then touch the crystal. I had Maritte (though only use characters you're actually using) do the fight, which is pretty easy. You'll get a weapon for her once it is done. Go south and get back on the invisible platform. Take it south to the fork in the middle of the room and go west. Get the chest and hit the plate. Now go north, step on the plate, grab the water and rush east past the laser. Go east one screen to find more towers. Hit the ones in the number order listed and don't touch the ones with an X:
If you goof up the solution, you can use this site to help : http://perfectweb.org/ddo/solver/vale_puzzle.html Click the edit button and then click on the squares to set them as on or off, then click solve. It'll show you which ones you need to hit, though it doesn't give an order. Generally I move left to right top to bottom and it works. Go south and step on the plate, then go north and enter the glowing square again. Kill the enemy here to reveal two chests, then touch the crystal here. I had Ima do this one. You should be able to kill each one in one hit with her basic attack. Now head south. Walk into the far left laser, then step on the plate here. Step on the plate by the entrance. Walk onto the walkway here and follow it all the way to the south west part of the screen. Push the left block all the way east and the right block all the way north. Now you can exit south.
You'll see a sweeping laser here; make your way past it and then west. Touch the crystal here and do the trial for your last character. Mine was Rook and he only has to deal with 2 enemies, so not too bad. Go east and then west and check the spot where the crystal was for Gwenora. Now head north. Push the block by you all the way east and then north just enough to block 2 lasers. Push the northwest block west a tiny bit to block two lasers. Push the far right bottom block all the way to the west edge, then push the bottom one all the way west. Now push the block above you all the way north. Push the block you haven't touched yet onto the plate and head north. Here's the solution to the towers:
Enter the glowing square. After the scene, step on the top button marked X and head east, then south. I don't know if you HAVE to do the crystals but I did them anyway, just pick whoever if you've already done your main three. Note that if you haven't been equipping them you'll want to give them the best equipment you have or just instant victory it. Now head west, then step on the O plate and then the regular plate south west of you. Go west past the spotlight and step on the X plate. Go northeast to the next screen. Step on the plate here and go north once. You need to push the block to the north east corner, making sure to get behind it when the lasers comes (you can do the same for the northwest corner if you want to get the chest. Exit east. Activate the tree here and do the last 2 trials. Enter the glowing square nearby. Move north a bit for a scene. Go south onto the walkway and then check the left statue. It will disappear and then you can grab the Sparkly Gem (9/10).
Now, the world is ending! The tower is collapsing! We're all gonna die! WHICH MEANS...side quest time, of course. Wouldn't be an RPG if you didn't put off saving the world while it is ending to do some silly questing. Go back into the southwest glowing square, then use the tree to go to Cemetery. Talk to Gwenora, then teleport to the Schoolyard. Go north once and west once. Enter the Duelling Hall. Go north once and interact with all the stone blocks, starting with the far left one. Go down all the stairs until you see three candles. Interact with the bottom one for Gwenora. Continue until you reach the Lair of the Allcat, then go up the other set of stairs, that is opposite the one you came down, and activate the tree. Go east. Grab the last Sparkly Gem in the fireplace (10/10). Return to Gwenora to get the Echo Heart. Use the tree to go to the Stoc and Barrol. Go down the stairs and buy all the accessories for an achievement:
Upgraded All Gem Accessories
Upgraded All Gem Accessories
Also try to open the blue chest here; if you have all 10 Sparkly Gems you'll get the allkey. Teleport to the Library and enter the Study Hall west of you. Follow the path to stairs and then go down. Save your game and I'd probably swap Rook out for Gilda. Interact with the book and choose "let's feast" for a boss. He summons minions, stays on the other side of the map, and he uses Black Hole to move your characters to the far right side so you have to waste a few turns just getting to him again. Also, he uses a skill called Halting Scream, which I assume paralyzes you or something if you don't get a great defence. The flames he summons will also explode and damage nearby characters, but they only do 1 damage to the bosses' minions, and good luck getting one close enough to the boss.
Gilda can teleport right next to the boss and attack it instantly, so having her can save a tonne of time. I'd start by casting rainbow on everyone, and then I'd have your characters close enough to the boss attack. The ones that aren't close enough to the boss should take shots at the minions as they work their way back to the boss (Gilda should be teleporting and smacking it as much as possible though). If you're starting to get low, I'd let everyone get black hole'd away so you can rainbow and regroup. If you're also struggling with minions you may want to do the same, and don't be afraid to use items on top of the rainbow heal if you need it. It is a long and frustrating fight, but so long as you keep rainbow up and throw up an item or two (I only had to use one) it's doable. You'll get an achievement for beating it:
Don't get excited though, because the rest aren't any fun either. Leave the Study Hall and use the tree to go to the Spirit Oval. Enter, take the other south exit, save, then go east. You may need to use the levers to raise tiles. Go east again and then go south between the 3rd and 4th pillars. Follow the path east and then north, and about halfway up go east to a new screen. Touch the mirror for a boss. When you kill one of them, they will turn into a diamond. If you don't kill the others fast enough, or damage the diamond at all, they come back to life with half health, so 50 HP. This means you need to get all of them really low so you can kill then ASAP. On a diamond's first turn it starts a 3 turn countdown, so you have 4 turns to get them all dead at once from the first death.
So basically you have to let the damaged ones smack you around while you try to lower the others. They have all the abilities your characters do, including the ability to lay traps and heal. So not only do you need to get them low while the others pound away at you, but you also need to do it without them healing too much. The only good news is that they tend to bunch up so you can hit them with a decent amount of AoE abilities, but you have to make sure not to hit the diamonds or they revive instantly. You should be able to outheal their damage with rainbow up, just make sure not to get any of them in the rainbow AoE or you'll have big problems. Once they are all one hit from death, start cutting them down. When they are all diamonds at once, you win, and get an achievement:
Defeated the Specters
Defeated the Specters
For the last side quest, we need to open the cat doors you've seen throughout the world. Teleport to The Roost and go south. Open the cat door by interacting with it and loot the chest inside. Now teleport to the Stoc and Barrol. Enter the tavern, go east, go in the first door and loot the chest here. Teleport to the Cemetery, go north, enter the cabin and loot the chest. Teleport to the Spirit Oval and go inside. Take the other south exit, enter the wind, go north, west, north, west, north and you'll see the door north of you. Teleport to the North Schoolyard next. Go north two screens and enter the Northern Dorms. Go east two screens, south once, and then enter the southeast door to find the last piece of cat armour. Teleport to the Spelltower Base and talk to the shop here and buy some goodies. One or two of the Phoenix Eggs is good; they heal everyone for 50 HP including dead people, so it's an emergency button. You can get Dragon Eggs but they are only temporary boosts. Demon Eyes last for 5 turns so those aren't a bad choice either.
When you're ready, teleport to the Allcat. Put the cat weapon, all the cat armour, and the car accessory on one character. Go down the stairs and talk to the big cat and agree for a boss fight. There's not too much to say about the first form; the boss has 3 minions it will re-summon a turn or two after they die, and the bosses' whirl attack lowers either power or defence by ten for the person hit (single target). I would probably kill one or two of the minions and they focus the boss until he summons them all again, then repeat. Keep rainbow up as always. The reinforcements tended to come from the other side of the map, so you may have a turn or two to hit the boss before they get to you. The only other thing to mention is that the boss has really high defence, and the black cat can toss your party members around so you should kill that one first. You may even want to leave a character on the far right side so the reinforcements will focus them and you can slap the boss around. Once the boss is close to dead, wipe his minions and then finish him to fight the next form. The premise of this fight is basically the same; keep the minions under control, keep rainbow up and damage the boss as you can. If you use buffs like Maritte's Motivate or the Dragon Eggs, Gilda and Maritte might be able to one shot the kittens (depending on your stats). Once the second form goes down, you get an achievement:
Defeated the Allcat
Defeated the Allcat
Equip the Clan Insignia you got from the Allcat on someone in your main party and DO NOT take it off. Now return to the tree and teleport to Spelltower Top. Enter the glowing square here, then enter the next one. Go south and approach the girl for a scene, and then a boss fight. The boss summoned minions, but only once. When I got her super low she summoned a bunch of red orbs with 999 HP. I have no clue what they did because I just finished her off rather than find out. She has a lot of HP, but since she only summoned minions once it wasn't a particularly hard fight. You'll get an achievement for it:
After the scenes, go south, use the save cat and make sure you have some free time, because the final boss has no less than 6 forms. When you're ready, enter the glowing square for the final fight. The first form has regular attacks and only has 100 HP. A couple of hits from Gilda and Maritte will kill it. The next form has 150 HP. Its attacks are nothing special, so this form should be over quick as well. The third form is the same; 150 HP and a little more damage but that's all. For the 4th form, it can lay traps and summon help, and has 300 HP. I would get the boss low then slaughter his minions and kill him before he summons more, otherwise they go into the 5th form with the boss. The 5th form has 300 HP and summons minions, but seems to do it one at a time so they are much easier to deal with. They are cleared when the 6th form starts. The final Form has 200 HP, doesn't move, and didn't seem to summon any minions or do anything special. It just uses attacks that hit everyone a couple times. I just focused it down. You'll finally be done, and get an achievement:
After like 20-30 minutes of scenes and credits, you should get the last two achievements:
